Charlotte at 6 weeks

Little Charlotte is growing fast and we're delighted by all of her developments. She loves holding her head up, which she can do reliably for a few seconds before becoming a bobblehead. She's starting to smile back at us, which you can see in these pictures. She is also impressing us with her strong legs and likes to use our laps as a springboard for exercising them. Her next doctor's visit isn't for a couple weeks, so we can only guess how big and tall she has gotten since her last visit.

Well, we have finally figured out how to operate the digital video camera we purchased to document Charlotte's life. Above is the first video we took of Charlotte about ten minutes after she was born. We have a number of other videos posted on our YouTube site. Of course, we will continue to update this site (hopefully with more frequency) with new photos and stories. The pictures below include some of Charlotte with her new friends Henry and Stella who recently came over to visit along with their parents Jared "Cakes" and Alisha Likness, Dominick's friends from college. In addition, there are some pictures of Charlotte making faces.

It's been an exciting week or so, as you might assume from our hiatus from blog posting. There were some highlights, namely visits from both sets of grandparents and many friends. On the flip side, an unwelcomed visitor named Norovirus made a visit to the house. Mom and Dad both got hit, but we fortunately managed to avoid marking the milestone of baby's first stomach virus. Mom also got an infection that produced a high fever, but she's doing well now. Charlotte made another trip to the doctor because she started getting very upset right after eating. It turns out she's getting a little too much in one sitting, giving her some acid reflux discomfort. By the age of 2 weeks, she had gained 1.5 lbs over her birth weight! Those newborn onesies and diapers won't fit much longer.
